Worth the late night at our private bed and breakfast in Troy, Montana!

Shifting tones of green shimmer across the night...

Few things are more relaxing than staring at a galaxy full of stars just outside Glacier National Park in Troy, Montana, and we are far enough north here that, at certain times, you might be gifted with a light show. Moving waves of green and purple hues dance across the hilltops for those willing to risk a late-night escapade. We have even linked a site below that can tell you when and where to look for this amazing phenomenon.

Northwest Montana is remote and beautiful, just like our bed and breakfast in Troy. Nothing brings this home more than walking outside at night to realize there are no lights. Except for the stars, of course. But because there are so few ground lights in our area - the stars seem so bright as to be surreal. The clarity of the air and the lack of people mean that you can hear the wind shifting through the trees, the gurgling of the river, and feel the peace and serenity of the moment.

When and Where....

Bring your camera and maybe even your telescope!

For dedicated stargazers or just admiring amateurs, there is something to being able to see the Milkyway from the window of your own private room at our riverfront bed and breakfast way on the outskirts of Bozeman, Montana. Sit outside on the deck or wander the property for the perfect romantic spot to share the moment.

Peak times for Aurora Borealis are from August to April, but there are still plenty of stars in the sky if you visit at other times!

Keep in mind that during high summer, sunset starts at about 10:30 at night, so if start gazing is on your mind, it will be a late night. But during fall and winter, the shorter days are ideal for chasing the beautiful Northern Lights!

Several planets can be seen with the naked eye from the deck, and we actually had a heated debate the other night when one was so bright and twinkly that we thought it might be an aircraft. It turned out to be Jupiter. (Who knew?)

If you arrive during a full moon, the moonlight can be so bright with our clear air, that you can sit outside and read.

Peace and tranquility

Probably the thing that we hear more often than anything else is the peacefulness of the setting of the water at our riverfront bed and breakfast in Troy, Montana. Leave your window open to hear the river rushing by and feel the mountain breeze on your face. The lack of human noises, just the scents, and sounds of the mountain, river, and sky. This is the place for romantic privacy, deep sleep, and restorative peace. Relax, and we promise you'll want to come back.

We have front-row seats to great meteor showers at our remote bed and breakfast in Troy, Montana from time to time. The clarity of the air here and the darkness of the ground allow us a great view of the stars scratching across the heavens.
